What superb weather to end the J Class Westlake Series for 2021. The wind was fickle to start with, Glen Church and I laid a course to suit the conditions.
Racing was close and even after the nine races that we sailed there wasn’t a clear winner.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the day, we had a lot of positive feedback from the locals who stopped to watch the racing.
The odd boat got tangled up but overall good racing, the breeze improved as the afternoon went on. All the sailors were on their best behaviour.
Tom Arthur’s launching jetty proved invaluable.
Thanks to Vern for setting up the computer and Glen Church, my right hand man for the day.
