Great to get a good afternoon sailing after July’s postponement. A short triangular course and a decision to do one lap only, allowed 7 races to be completed. The first 4 races were sailed in light air from an easterly quarter on a course with a windward start, taking all marks to starboard. As the wind took a 180 degree shift, it was decided to change direction in the 5th race and take all marks to port. The 6th race was the same, but the wind became more nor westerly making the first leg more of a reach than a beat. The last race was started on the wind, taking all marks to starboard as in the first 4 races, making a windward beat from the wing mark to the 3rd mark.
Due to the appreciated help from participants to share Race Officer’s jobs, I found the method of having one race official was effortless and worked well. Thanks to all
At the last event we seemed to have the support of the local people and it was good to see them enjoying this weeks event and participants mingle with them
A big thanks again to Pegasus Radio Sailing Club for the use of their inflatable, great to have Paul Johnson join us on the lakeside. Thanks to all, a great afternoon.
